Everybody agrees to the saying, " Prevention is better than cure," But can we prevent ourselves from the threats of the communicable diseases?
"Knowledge pays interest," The interest in knowledge is not about the revenues in adsense nor hubpages. When we have enough knowledge or information on this threats, we can take precautions in endangering our healths when we expose our selves in the microorganisms around us.
If the infectious agent can be transmitted to an individual by direct or indirect contact, through a vector or vehicle or as an airborne infection, the resulting condition is called COMMUNICABLE DISEASE. (pp 629-620, kozier et al, fundamental of nursing (c) 2004 )

HOW DOES MICROORGANISM SPREAD INFECTION?
ANTHRAX- an acute bacterial disease that affects the skin.transmitted via tissues of dead or infected animas and soil.
AVIAN FLU- H5n1 virus. Symptoms include fever, body weakness or muscle pain, cough, sore throat and sore eyes.
CHICKEN POX- is spread through direct contact and droplet nuclei.
CHLAMYDIA- itching and burning sensation in the genital area.
DIPTHERIA- is a respiratory infection caused by Corynebacterium Diptheria transmitted though contact with soiled articles of infected persons.
FILARIASIS- is a parasitic infection that affects the lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes.
GONORRHEA- is passed through direct contact between infectious membranes.
HEPATIS A- is a form of acute hepatitis causing influeza- like symptoms, anorexia and Jaundice.
HEPATITIS B- is a severe liver disease transmitted through blood contact.
LEPTOSPIROSIS- caused by leptospires with pigs, cattles, rabits, hare, skunk, and other wild animals asa reservoir host.
LEPROSY- can be transmitted via skin contact or airborne transmission.
MEASLES- is spread through secretions of the nose and throat and is characterized by Koplik Spots.
MENINGOCOCEMIA- is a respiratory infection transmitted through direct contact with respiratory droplets of infected individuals.
MUMPS- are transmitted through the secretions of nose and mouth and causes swelling of the neck, front of ear and jaw angles.
PARAGANIMIASIS- is caused by a lung fluke causing signs and symptoms resembling that if pulmonary tuberculosis.
PERTUSSIS OR WHOOPING COUGH- is transmitted through the laryngeal and bronchial discharges of infected persons.
RABIES- Is a viral infection transmitted through bites of animalsmwith infected saliva.
RED TIDE POISONING- is caused by ingestion of raw or inadequately cooked seafood.
SARS- is a respiratory infection transmitted through close contact with respiratory droplets from an infected person.
SCABIES- eruptive lesions on the skin caused by itch mite.
SHIGELLOSIS or BACILLARY DYSENTERY- an acute bacterial infection causing bloody mucoid stool.
SCHISTOSOMIASIS- is a blood fluke that enters the body through skin penetration in infected water.
SYPHILLIS- transmitted through direct contact within an infected sore.
TYPHOID FEVER- is contracted through direct or indirect contact with a patient or carrier through food and water.
